Nashville Wedding Venue Series: The Cordelle

If you’re looking for the best Nashville wedding venue for your intimate wedding or elopement, this is a romantic Victorian option to consider!

The Cordelle - Southern charm meets modern elegance!

A beautiful reception setup within the main space of The Cordelle. A space full of natural light, and dreamy stings of light to add to the atmosphere when daylight begins to fade.

Why you should consider getting married at The Cordelle.

This Victorian style home was originally built in the 1800’s, and they added on a spacious indoor area. There is also a small but beautiful garden area, and a covered porch. This location oozes Southern elegance, making it an easy choice for those who want a gorgeous venue, but who also want a blank canvas to be able to bring their own unique wedding vision to life. This venue is large enough that you have space for your guests and planned festivities, but it’s small enough that you won’t feel like it’s too spacious. In my opinion, it’s the perfect venue for smaller weddings of around 50-65 guests.

Why I love weddings at The Cordelle - from a photographer’s perspective:

  • With the main part of the venue being a historic Victorian home, this venue is wildly romantic - the perfect setting to capture this chapter of your love story, and a photographer’s dream location to photograph at!

  • For being a smaller venue, there’s a good amount of variety to work with, but everything is close together. You don’t have to walk to the other end of an expansive property for photos which saves you a lot of time, and keeps you close to your loved ones celebrating with you.

  • The main indoor space has lots of beautiful natural lighting, which is a huge benefit when it comes to photos!

  • The upstairs bridal sweet is directly above this, and all day you have easy access so you can step away and take a few moments to yourself.

  • The venue is located downtown Nashville, but not too close to the chaos of Broadway. There are several hotels in the area, making it a fairly short Uber ride for guests.

A photographer’s tips for your wedding photos:

  • Best spots for indoor portraits - amidst your reception decor, some dreamy window shots in the Victorian portion of the venue, in the small back room of the bridal suite, depending on your reception setup - there’s some really beautiful and unique light that comes through the windows in the afternoon.

  • Best spots for outdoor portraits - in the garden at golden hour, on the front steps of the Victorian home, underneath the giant tree at the edge of the yard, tucked away in the corner of the yard directly in front of the house.

  • I love giving couples moments to themselves throughout their day, and the bridal suite is the perfect spot to escape to. Taking a few moments throughout is also a great way to get a variety of portraits throughout your day!

I’m a romantic and an old soul, and I specialize in photographing intimate weddings for couples who are deeply in love - those who want to get lost in the magic of their day, rather than lost in the stress of a large event. I photograph using a combination of digital and timeless 35mm film, and my husband second shoots film photos while also capturing vignettes of your day with video postcards! Every couple also receives a book with written memories and photos from their wedding day, and a hard drive with all of their wedding photos. If this sounds like you, let’s get to know one another and talk about capturing your dream day!
