Fun things for couples to do in Nashville!

Avoid the cheesy tourist spots. Here are some fun and romantic ideas for your Nashville couples vacation!

Nashville is the perfect city for a weekend getaway! I’ve lived here for over 11 years, and my husband and I love going going on dates around out city. Here are some ideas and places to consider for your Nashville trip…

Explore Germantown - This is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Nashville, and it’s full of wonderful shops, restaurants, bars, parks and coffee shops! Be sure to check out: Surefire Coffee Co., Little Hats Italian Market, The Golden Slipper, Monday Night Brewing and Geist! Morgan Park is a great place to spread a blanket and have a picnic and read, or take a walk around Bicentennial Park and pop into the Farmers Market for ice cream or boba tea!

Get dressed up for a fancy dinner in downtown Nashville - Throw on a button up and blazer, and pick out your favorite dress and heels to head downtown to one of our luxurious restaurants! I highly recommend Sinatra Bar & Lounge to step back into time with ol’ blue eyes, Druise & Darr for some real elegance at the Hermitage Hotel, or Bourbon Steak inside the JW Marriot Hotel.

Take a drive down the Natchez Trace and wander over to Leipers Fork - This is such a beautiful drive, especially in the fall, and Leipers Fork is full of cute shops, art galleries, a couple of great restaurants, and even a fun whiskey distillery that you can tour!

Visit Arrington Vineyards or Belle Meade Winery - For all the wine lovers, these are two special spots to try some new wines! Arrington is a little further outside of the city, but is a great spot to park a picnic to enjoy as the sun sets. If you visit Belle Meade Winery, I also recommend taking a drive down Belle Meade Blvd, as there are some beautiful old homes that are fun to admire.

For the water lovers, consider pool passes at the Dive Motel, or visit the Holiday Bathhouse - In the summer, cool off at the pool while sipping on a drink at either of these hotels. In the winter you can book a time slot at Holiday Bathhouse and indulge in the hot tub, sauna or steam room - this is one of my favorite things to do in the colder months!

Take a walk around Centennial Park and have a picnic - Especially in the spring and fall, this is a lovely park to enjoy. Consider stopping by Little Hats Italian Market in Germantown on your way to pick up food.

Go see the Nashville Symphony - Whether they’re playing the hits of a well known composer, or playing the score to your favorite film, this is a romantic thing to get dressed up and do together! Consider grabbing cocktails before or after at Pullman Standard.

Where you should not go if you want to avoid Nashville tourists and crowds:

Broadway, 12 South and The Gulch are the three areas that are the most crowded, and they are more tourist spots than they are places locals frequent on a regular basis. You’re most likely to run into bachelorette and bachelor parties in these areas. If you are wanting to visit them, I recommend going during the week, rather than on a weekend.
